Veronica Beard is looking for a passionate and experienced editor to join our head office in New York as Senior Editor reporting to the VP Communications & Brand Marketing.
The Senior Editor will drive the editorial strategy and manage editorial content development across all marketing touch points to generate impactful stories and create compelling copy. This person will establish and maintain the brand voice while fostering the brand image.
Develop editorial content strategies that support brand marketing initiatives
Plan and manage the blog editorial calendar
Lead concepting for all editorial stories
Partner with AD to brief in all editorial content shoots that support seasonal collections and provide lifestyle content for editorial platforms (blog, site, email, social)
Write/edit all blog content (10-15 posts per month)
Establish influential tastemaker relations to elevate subjects featured in blog, extend engagement across channels i.e. offline activations in-store hosted by tastemakers, collabs etc
Upload content and manage CMS
Identify blog design optimization opportunities and work in tandem with U/X designer
Report monthly on blog performance
Partner with digital and social team to develop content + commerce opportunities across Veronica Beard owned channels (social, email, blog, site)
Manage budget for editorial content creation
Partner with AD and VP Brand Mktg to develop creative concepts for various initiatives
Attend industry events as necessary
Conduct competitive research in order to optimize content
Stay industry aware by reading relevant publications
Create messaging around collections and brand marketing initiatives
Responsible for all email, site, ad media, product, marketing collateral copy including:
- Write all emails to support email marketing
- Oversee site copy including homepage, category and corporate pages
- Review and approve all ad media copy
- Oversee all product copy including product names, descriptions, hang tags, flashers
- Craft all collateral copy including direct mail pieces, instore signage, event invitations
8+ years’ experience in editorial and content creation
Superior written English
Strong communication and organizational skills
Proven ability to manage time, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines
Proven ability to work efficiently with accuracy and attention to detail
Extensive knowledge of and interest fashion industry, history, trends, culture, and relevant cultural references
Industry-aware and up to speed on key trends
Awareness and interest in business (hero products, key initiatives, sales, investments, etc)
Experience in women’s fashion/luxury/lifestyle brand, agency, or publication
Entrepreneurial mindset (problem-solver, proactive and able to define and follow through projects through to execution)
Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, team player
High level of ownership, accountability, initiative, and drive
Comfortable with operating in a fast-paced environment and dealing with ambiguity
