The Role

Veronica Beard is a contemporary American sportswear brand that strikes the balance between classic and cool. It offers a modern perspective on iconic staples and results in a ready to wear collection that is hardwired for real life. We are looking for a Production Manager: Imports to join our fast-growing team.


Oversee all aspects of the import production cycle from proto costing through delivery to warehouse – working on a calendar of 4 seasons/9 deliveries

Manage costing from development targets to final negotiated bulk prices; understand costing breakdowns – fabric, trim, CM, transportation, etc

Partner with design and vendors to source, cost and achieve margin goals and support pricing structure

Maintain data in Simparel ERP system / WIP report

Oversee seasonal production calendar, ensuring deadlines are met by all business partners, including design, merchandising and vendors

Daily communication with factories, mills, agents, freight forwarders, customs broker

Follow all stages of garment approval with tech design team

Follow all stages of fabric and trim approvals with design and production team

Provide counter options when costing is prohibitive or quality is problematic; countersource with alternative factories when appropriate

Occasional garment inspections at local warehouse or distribution center may be required

Be prepared to work to a tighter schedule for replenishment orders, recuts and special projects

Manage all related invoices

Track sample development metrics and costs on a monthly basis to ensure we are within budget allowances

Identify viable factories, mills and other suppliers

Maintain positive and professional relationships with vendors and internal partners


3-5 years experience within Women's Contemporary Production

Experience in overseas costing

Strong negotiating skills for costs and deliveries

Relationships with factories, agent, vendors

Technical knowledge of fabrics, garments and construction methods

Experience in WIP charts and making sure all factories maintain the schedules

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to partner cross functionally and effectively with design, merchants, global production and overseas offices

Ability to multitask and prioritize workload according to timezone

Ability to work under pressure

Willingness to work extra hours to meet deadlines

Understanding and experience of domestic production a plus

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Experience with ERP system such as BlueCherry, RLM, Simparel required
