Veronica Beard is hiring an HR Director who will establish and lead the HR practice for the company. This leader will create a people strategy that aligns with the organizational objectives. They will establish best practice for performance management, operational policies, talent acquisition and training and development while striving for a high level of employee satisfaction. This role will report in to the President.


Support a population of ~100 employees between the corporate office and 4 retail stores (NY, California, Texas)

Establish an HR practice that champions a positive and professional work culture

Recruiting, Onboarding and Coaching:

Lead full-cycle talent acquisition for hiring/onboarding of all team members

Craft job descriptions and collaborate with managers to execute key personnel placements

Provide direction to managers on coaching and counseling for employee development

Manage the internship program and build partnerships with various colleges and universities

Performance Management and Employee Development:

Assist executive management in the annual review, preparation, and administration of the organization's compensation and bonus program with the goal of providing motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance

Develop leadership training and management coaching activities that prepare high-potential employees for management roles, whether through internal activities or sourcing and evaluating third-party partners

Policy setting and Compliance:

Ensure company compliance in all aspects of FMLA, FLSA, city, state, and federal regulations

Foster positive and effective employee relations and advise and assist managers with a broad range of human resources functions including conflict resolution, progressive discipline, separations and other sensitive matters

Establish and Maintain Operational Policies & Procedures


Manage all aspects of benefits (i.e. medical, dental, vision, 401K, commuter, STD, LTD) and manage employee inquiries associated with these policies

Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures, recommending revisions as well as new plans that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives


7+ year HR experience

Brings a great network and knowledge of the apparel industry

Exceptionally strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to interface with all levels of employees

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with ability to conduct formal presentations & one-on-one meetings

Creative thinker and problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
