Veronica Beard is looking for an experienced digital expert to join our team in New York as Director E-Commerce, reporting to the Vice President of Digital. The E-Commerce Director will be responsible for day-to-day oversight of including operations and site development, partnering with relevant internal and external players to enhance the online customer experience, maximize site usability, performance and ROI.

The leader in this role will be accountable for digital analysis, presenting insights and recommendations to drive sales and conversion and ensuring an optimal digital user experience at all touch points. The candidate is expected to be an idea generator with a high level of digital marketing, merchandising and project management expertise who likes to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative work environment .

The role will involve cross-functional collaboration with our creative, operations, planning, retail and wholesale teams and is supported by a team of two.


Manage site maintenance plan and budget; work with in-house team and external vendors to achieve plan and brand goals, partnering with outside development agency and internal digital design team on site experience and functional enhancements

Identify opportunities and prioritize work flow for the maximum impact on business growth: Oversee all project management related to site including managing service levels of internal and 3rd-party providers including but not limited to development agency, platform, fulfillment, and customer service

Leverage merchandising and content expertise to help develop a best-in-class online experience that maximizes conversion opportunities and encourages more site visits

Identify, track and resolve technical issues within our platform as well as propose and thoroughly test new functionality while partnering with release and project management teams, supporting resolution of issues related to data feeds, product, pricing, promotions, content, orders, third party integrations, etc.

Actively monitor daily data flow between front end, order management, and internal systems; working with appropriate partners to resolve any discrepancies and issues

With support of E-Commerce team, oversee daily and weekly reporting for internal management team. Oversee preparation of monthly hindsight and contribute to quarterly business reporting

Leverage business analysis and strong understanding of financial metrics to track selling, identify key trends and maximize opportunities in the assortment to achieve growth and profitability of the ecommerce business

Work closely with senior management, creative, planning and merchandising to identify business drivers to guide the development of seasonal digital marketing and monthly promotional roadmap – leveraging macro as well as direct response digital insights

Partner with Customer Experience and Marketing Managers to devise and lead email communications program ensuring they drive sales and brand engagement, and develop lifecycle marketing campaigns to drive loyalty and retention among existing customers

Maintain robust competitive intelligence to monitor trends, pricing strategies and presentation techniques


Bachelor’s Degree or higher, MBA a plus

8+ years of e-commerce experience, preferably in a fashion or luxury environment

Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, develop, and grow teams. Able to manage up, down and across with results

Detailed understanding of end-to-end e-commerce processes including clear understanding of website infrastructure, content management, product attribution, and customer-facing functionality

P&L or line of business management experience, core operational strength and the ability to make budget decisions to drive business success

Possess an in-depth understanding of how to develop and prioritize site functionality, key retail programs and seamlessly ensure site operations are fully functional

Must have experience with evaluating and migrating platforms

Deep understanding of the digital B2C business with a mix of CRM, media, creative, technical and sales knowledge

Excellent qualitative and quantitative skills, Strong project management skills, Entry-level HTML knowledge a plus

Strong organizational, analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills with a strong attention to detail

Entrepreneurial spirit, ability to work quickly, efficiently and strategically with a wide range of internal departments

Proficient in Google Analytics, M.S. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
