A Guide to the Best Summer Drinks

June 26, 2017

Jordan Salcito, the woman behind the wines at RAMONA, Momofuku and Bellus Wines, is dishing on what to drink this summer (including her go-to cocktail recipe). Cheers!

The three summer wines perfect for dining al fresco…

Summer Water — it's joy in a glass. Nikki and Erica manage to make a refreshing, quaffable rosé that has notes of rose petals and strawberry but is as dry and focused as can be. They nailed it and this wine is as billed — perfect for summer!

Sandhi Sparkling Rosé is one of the most thoughtful wines I've tasted and a brilliant example of bubbly created by Rajat Parr with some collaboration by Michael Cruse. The wine is indeed serious and intellectual if you want to spend time with it — and it's delicious on its own. It's also super-light in color, 98% Chardonnay with just 2% Pinot Noir.

Bellus Caldera — this is one of my go-to summer whites because it's dry yet aromatic and because it's such a clean, mineral, versatile white wine. Plus, the grapes grow at high elevation on volcanic soil and I love the tension those factors add to this wine!

Your bottle isn’t cold and guests are coming in 10… How can you chill a bottle quickly?

Submerge in very salty ice water.

The bottle you’re giving as a hostess gift?

A 4-pack of RAMONA!
