The Resolutions: Skin Deep

January 5, 2018

When it comes to New Year’s resolutions, your beauty routine might not be top of mind, but it should be. We asked Jessica Richards, owner and founder of Brooklyn-based Shen Beauty (the destination for unique, indie and all-around chic beauty products), to share her must-haves for starting the year off right. “For me New Year’s means self-care and the older I become, the more relevant this becomes,” says Richards. From detoxifying bath salts to her favorite probiotics, here are Jessica’s essentials.
Therapie by Roques O’Neil Himalayan Detox Bath Salts are the key to self-care. These salts help to counter electromagnetic energy that I absorb from computers, WIFI and cell usage and helps with my muscles after working out.

The Sturm Face Mask is my ultimate travel companion and part of my New Year’s resolution of masking more. I have a particular love affair for this one because you don’t rinse it off. You “roll” it off which allows your skin to stay hydrated and absorb all the ingredients. It is good for all skin types and makes your skin so soft.

The Lord Jones Pure CBD Pain Wellness Formula Body Lotion is something that I will not be leaving home without. Whether it’s in my handbag during the day, suitcase for travel or my overnight bag, this product is the one thing that has helped me with my hip pain from working out and sitting on airplanes.

Remembering to take The Nue Co. PREBIOTIC + PROBIOTIC Supplements twice a day are another one of are my resolutions. They not only help with my stomach issues caused by stress, but also help to keep my skin clear and my gut in order. They are derived from soil and are vegetarian. I seriously can’t be more excited about the results of taking these.

May Lindstrom Skin's The Blue Cocoon is tried and true and something that is my personal hero product. The blue tansy in this helps to reduce redness and help to retain hydration. I have been using this product religiously for the past five years and I will continue to use it forever.
